Hi All,

I have recently written a number of web services and ASP pages around SalesLogix. I currently need to create Ad-Hoc groups within the SalesLogix database. Does anyone have any experience of this? My issue is primarily around populating the blob field containing the group definition in the plugin table. Ideally, I'm looking for a quick and simple method without having to disect exisitng records to work out what needs to be in it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hehe. That is a good one

You're in for a whole new world of pain. There's no easy way to do this. If you had reference to the SlxApplication object then wouldn't be such a big deal (but that means SLX would have ot be running - not going to work for a web app)

John,

I thought I'd managed to get away from this, but it looks like it has reared it's ugly head again. So anyhelp would be appreciated. I was thinking to trying to us .net ASCIIEncoding to read the data (from an example list) into a string, manipulate it, then convert and stream it to a new record.

If you have any examples of doing this or similar, I would appreciate it.

I did this a couple of years ago WITHOUT using any blob stuff.
I just populated the "AdHoc" table, having created the group with one contact in it manually first.
