Performance improvements to the slxdeveloper.com server

Over this last weekend some major improvements were made to the server hosting the slxdeveloper.com site. Lately, performance on the site has frankly, sucked. These changes seem to have helped things drastically.
1) Memory on the server was doubled 2) Database tuning to prevent some table scans and other data related issues 3) Some filters were installed on the server to prevent SQL injection attack attempts to not chew up server resources
Things are looking great again, but we are not stopping there. Up until now we've been self-hosting the site (we apparently like dealing with pain ). We are in the process of getting things ready to move to a dedicated host and hope to see more performance improvements with that move.
Anyway, just wanted to let you all know of the changes and that I fully expect performance to be back to how it was before things became so sluggish. Thanks for hanging in there.
BTW, I would completely love any feedback on how things are performing on the site for you.

There's a lot more on the way as well. I have a beefy new server I'll be moving the website to tomorrow (the performance improvements tonight are just from removing some bottlenecks in the code & database. |
