Gurus, i have a question about SLX delivered thru web...

In which version are we going to see the slxweb finally being delivered as good as(or close to) the way LAN Client is right now??..with programmer assiting features like a better IDE with template versioning, task management thru projects and better migration mechanism(current way of bundling web projects sucks!) and ofcourse, debugging!!!

Also when are they going to introduce .NET webforms and stuff in SLXWEB?(i heard about the new .net forms manager in V7 which can be used for building extensions in SLX) Is it that they are trying to take the LAN client to the next level first and then start thinking about Web or is there no interest in web at all??

Dont you guys at the BP, never press for these features in Web at all?Dont they talk about a tech road map at those PDCs that many of you attend? Overall, what is the percentage of Webclients/LAN Client installs as per you?

The new ASP.NET-based framework is underway. A whole new way of developing for web built on the same foundation we'll see in v8.

Not only that but the v8 client itself will be a smart client and be able to work over a thin wire with a rich UI - and with the ability to offline data.

Yes, BP's push for this stuff all the time ;p and I would like to think have a huge impact on the direction of the product. The problem is getting there. Version 8 will be a dream come true for people like me . The next web client will be the first SLX web release that I am actually excited about (and really push to my customers).
