It would be great if we could have formatting tips along the side of our post, I've seen Ryan use this a few times, like quoting other post or putting the code in little blocks like this

That is a great suggestion.

I do plan on extending the form to post in the forums. Mainly to allow for inserting a code block (and specifying the language so it can syntax highlight it) along with other things. I think I might go with the route of a more rich-text approach (well, at least considering) instead of dealing with HTML tags etc.
