I have been asked by a user group to create some sort of automated e-mail process from within Saleslogix.. Here is the skinny:
They have a field on the contact screen where they can add all the different type of reports they can send to clients and prospects.. each client may have one, two three.. could be any number and/or combination of reports. So far nothing hard.. create a group for each reports and send that, however they would like to send a single e-mail to the contact with each attachment they should get so contact A gets reports 1, 2 and contact B gets reports 2, 3, 5. They would like this done through a single e-mail sent via SLX adding the item to history and the attachments to attachments. Also, the documents should be coming from the SLX Library.

I have looked at Knowledgestorm and since this combines all the documents into a single pdf it won't meet my need. I am thinking maybe this is somehting that Knowledge Sync can handle.

Anyone have some ideas as how to complete this task.. hoepfully easily..

Thanks All

Rich

Knowledge Sync has the ability to combine output from a KS Run into one collective email - which I believe is what you are looking for.

I agree with Mike.. I have been using KS for years and really like the tool. We even use it with Non-Saleslogix clients.

Another alternative is to Use Crystal Enterprise. It has the ability to send emails, generate reports, etc.

Carla,

True, Crystal Enterprise can do this, but its a very expensive solutions from my experience. We do have it here and don't use the scheduling or anything. What we are going to do now is upgrade to Business Objects XI Pro and take it from there. Still not familiar with all the managed reports, plus in CE, we only used the unmanaged reports part because it was a customer web app. Much easier to call the report via a link.

But we gotta progress..so its another project on my plate.

The nice thing about KS vs Crystal is that you can make it very dynamic. KS can get a list of 'contacts' and then build a new email for each one. You will not have to train the system when you add users or take them away. We actually use it for Drip campaigns and status reports - completely automatic. One of our vendors authors a web page for us. I wrote a bot which takes the asp page from their site, saves it to our server and then KS emails it to all subscribers to our newsletter (in the body of the email) who have logged into the site within the last 6 months. THis has been working for 3 years without tweaking..
