I need to populate a field in one table with the value of a field in another table. I have managed to put a script together but it requires a F5 refresh to display the details. The field should be populated when a new record is created.

Hi Craig,

Is it possible for you to post the code on the forum, so that we can have a more detailed look on the same?

Also, on another note, are you making use of “Application.BasicFunctions.RefreshMainView” in your script, the function is used for reloading the detail part of the main view. And it is used after updating tables with VBScript to synchronize the views with the data.

After using this, there will be no need to refresh F5 manually.

Hope this helps…

Have a great day!

Sincerely,
Dinesh

Using RefreshMainview is a heavy load.. everything refreshes.... ALL forms in the mainview... nasty..

I suggest just refreshing the individual form(s) in question. Much better "good practice".
