SLX 7.01 Global Activity
Posted: 24 Aug 07 4:49 PM
Slx provides an Activity object in the Global Activity Script on some of the events; Application_AfterPostActivity, Application_AfterEditActivity, etc.
This object has a Save method, but invoking it does nothing. Why is this method there? I have also used the "Recordset" property which they provide, same thing. No dice.
All i am trying to do is add Members to a meeting programmatically after the meeting is created if they are not already members.
After running a Sql Trace (Sql 2005 profiler) i see that Slx is beginning and commiting a transaction. This inspired me to try using my own recordset to update the User activity and use my own transaction. My records got added and I was able to debug that, but when the transaction slx created commits my records are gone.
What gives? can anyone think of a way i can programmatically create meeting members (in 7.01) after an activity is created? OnScheduleActivity doesnt fire anymore (tried that too).
any ideas would be appreciated.

The "Activity" stuff is BROKEN in v7.0 and v7.0.1 This is a KI....
You need to upgrade to v7.2 to get the "fix". It's NOT a script issue.. it's a hard code issue in SalesLogix.
I know.. I logged the original ticket on it in v7.0 (when v7.0 came out). Also tested the HF for it which was never released and finally came out in the 7.2 release.
FYI.. it's in the v7.0 documentation and code that OnScheduleActivity has been defecated.

Couldn't resist.

I'm sure it was one of those freudian slips.
When SalesLogix deprecates a feature, they are essentially defecating on the business partners

...actually was thinking of the word "... deprecated..." but the other one was what the keyboad/spell checker produced..
