How to make value in the PicklistCombo Control read onlyYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

I have a value in the picklist combobox and i want to make it read only.can anyone suggest how to do it.

In the Same way,I have a picklist Combobox containing a list of values(For Eg: Approved,Rejected,In Process etc).Consider the initial value in the control is 'In Process'.Suppose I do not want to change the value but i selected 'Approved' .So the Value is changed to Approved which is not required.Instead it should go back to the initial value(In Process). But I am not getting it.
I would be thankful if anyone throws light on how to go back to the initial value without changing.
Thanks,
vijay

Honestly, I have never messed with this particular control - which is surprising since I've been working on SalesLogix for four years. I've always used a combo box and loaded the values in dynamically at run time, and set the style to csDropDownList at design time. However, while looking at the options, you might be able to set the properties of the picklist in the Manage Picklists view. Set the "Text must match a list item" and "Users cannot edit items" and see what those do. I haven't tested it, so I don't know if that will help. The other thing you can do is tie a method to the OnChange or OnKeyPress event and if the user enters a value other than the original set of values, then pop a message box to tell the user not to do that and then set the picklistcombo box back to a set value.

For the second one, if I am understanding the question correctly, use the OnChange event as well, and check the value. If the value is something you don't want, use this code: PicklistCombo1.Text = "In Process"

I hope I understood your questions alright - but it seems like those are the answers.
