Hi all.

I would like to create a Look Up for accounts, but I want the lookup to actually be a query where one of the conditions is actually the field to search. Any idea on how I can do this?

Do you mean you want a lookup where you can lookup an account by another field (Status, for example)?

This is the query, I would like the user to have to enter the A2.SUBCATEGORYCODE, and it will display all of the notes and accounts that have that same subcategorycode. Because there are accounts that share the same subcategorycode and are therefore in the same family.

Currently, for that to work I have to share the group with everyone, and if they want to lookup a specific subcategorycode then they have to go to 'Edit Group' --> Conditions --> and enter the value, I would like to save them all of that work and just have a lookup.

By the way I'm using v6.2.6.

You won't be able to do this using a Lookup. You could, however, build a custom screen that works like a lookup. Basically a screen with a searchbox and grid. You could make it work like a lookup, but it's not possible to do this using a standard lookup. This would be a simple dev task, just a grid that get's loaded with dymanic SQL based on a user input value.

I think you're mixing the terms "Lookup" and "Group". A lookup does not have any export to excel functionality. A group does. As far as adding that capability to a grid, there are several ways to do that. One of those ways I've outlined here: http://saleslogixblog.com/rfarley/archive/2004/10/13/1094.aspx
