I have code to copy attachments to a server and it works great.

\\servername\AccountName&ID1\OpportunityName&ID1\
\\servername\AccountName&ID1\OpportunityName&ID2\
\\servername\AccountName&ID2\OpportunityName&ID1\
and so on....

Issue: I want the application to be able to write to the directory(and replace updated attachments), but I don't want users to have the ability to make changes through windows file manager, only read access.

Any ideas? Can a superuser type windows id be imbedded in the vb?

It certainly is possible to impersonate a user in code. This is what you will have to do. A google search for something like "VBScript Impersonate" would likely get some good examples. Since you'd have to include the login details & password for this user you will impersonate in your code, it is something to keep in mind to keep it secure. Impersonation is a breeze in .NET, if it were me, I would build that part as a .NET extention (assuming you're on v7 or higher)
