EditActivity call in v7.2Your last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

We have upgraded a client from 6.2.1 to 7.2. In 6.2 there was a custom grid where a record would be selected and then upon a button click, an activity record would be created via script. Then, the function to edit the newly created activity would be called, "application.basicfunctions.editactivity(activityid)". This all worked in 6.2 just fine. Now, in 7.2 the line, "application.basicfunctions.editactivity(activityid)" seems to be getting ignored as the activity record is created, but the edit screen never appears. Is anyone aware of how/why this function is no longer working? Or what adjustment needs to be made?

Thanks,

Dennis

I tried to use that syntax and the syntax check errors telling me that the parentheses are needed... here is the code:

rs.UpdateBatch
set rs = nothing
' now edit it... if they cancel out then clean up
If Not Application.BasicFunctions.EditActivity (sActivityId) then
cn.execute "Delete from Activity where Activityid = '" & sActivityId & "'"
end if

I attempted to remove the parentheses and run the form but it still just never opened the form.

Thanks for the help

Dennis

Could it be something with the security of the created activity row? If you try the call on other activities in the system does it work? Try calling it on other rows (not the row you just create before calling it). Know what I mean? At least that way you can determine if it is popping for *any* rows at all or never at all. I've tried this function in 7.2 and it did work for me.

Also, could it be that an error is occuring somewhere and being repressed so it never makes it to the EditFunction call? Are there any "On Error Resume Next" earlier in the script?
