That is *not* the case. The development environment in 7.2 (for the Windows client) is the same as it is for 7.0, all VBScript. For the 7.2 WEB CLIENT, you'll use .NET there as well as the new Application Architect, but for Windows client it has not changed.
You can build .NET Extensions for 7.0 and higher for the Windows client, but extensions are just that - extensions, not a buit in, or core part of the system.
Does that make sense?

Just to fill in a little spaces. Slx 7.x uses the 2.0 version of the .net framework , this is the same framework that is installed and compatible with VS2005. Vs2003, 2005 and comming soon 2008 can all co-exist on the same system without problem. I will however be going to 2008 only upon release as it can handle framework multitargeting (2.0, 3.0, and 3.5). This means that some of the new tools in vs are usable while developing SalesLogix extensions. As Ryan said all internal SalesLogix development continues to be VB Script, and external extension development can be any .net language targeting the 2.0 or Greater framework.
