Hi
I have a button on my Ticket form where I just added a new contact to an account with sql insert.

now my lookup field where I look up all the contacts for the account is not aware of that new contact.

I need to refresh the lookup query I guess....

How do I do that?

Just for kicks, I ran profiler while doing a lookup - every time you tell the lookup to search, it goes right to the database - so no refresh of any other sort is required. Have you tried closing the lookup, doing a Control+F5 refresh, and then using the lookup again? Does it come up then? When you create a contact in the database, do you also create an address record? A lot of the lookups for accounts and contacts require an address record for the accounts and contacts to be visible in the lookups.

ok I solved my own problem, in Architect I need to go to Manage, Lookups and create a different lookup based upon my own search criterion. I called it mylookup. Then I need to set the Lookup.Name property of the lookupfield to the name of my lookup

lvecontactlookupfield.Lookup.Name= "CONTACT:Accountid:mylookup"

While that may help the immediate situation, you should probably make sure you are adding an address record for each new contact you create, as that is a data integrity issue in SalesLogix.

I should be more private about where I get my kicks, huh?
