How to populate combox on datagrid
Posted: 14 Jan 08 3:06 PM
In an attempt to speed up data entry, I'm trying to make a combobox available as a drop down from the datagrid.
I'm trying to assign a table ID based on the combobox. I know I'm not thinking straight today
, but is there a way to accomplish this? I think I've seen it done in SLX before, but can't find it in any existing forms.
AHGA,
Ron

in the 'columns' property of the datagrid, right click on the column you want to be a combo and select "change column type" then choose combo from the list
then right click again and choose properties and fill in the strings you want in the 'combobox items' box on the lower left.
I would recommend using a picklist column type for this, however, as that would allow you to manage the types outside of design time. If you chose picklist the properties dialog would change appropriately.
or am I misunderstanding the question?
