SLX 7.0.1
When scheduling an activity or creating a note, I would like to know if it was generated from the Opp detail screen - whether initated from the toolbar, right click on activities tab etc.. Is it possible to tell where the activity was generated from on the Activity Detail view? Or possible to create a global variable to indicate where the activity/note was generated from? I want to filter the contact lookup based on Opportunity Contacts, but only if the activity was generated with Opp Detail view as the active view.

Thanks

I don't know that a GV will work properly here.

If you set it on opening opp detail and create the activity - OK.

But if you open opp detail, navigate back to an account (without closing opp detail) and then create an activity, the GV will still be in force and you would wrongly apply the filter. Correclty setting and unsetting the GV would become a logic nightmare.

I imagine you've checked out all of the Activity object attributes to see whether there's anything there that can help you?

Steve you can determine where you are (which form is active) by using the following:
Application.MainViews.ActiveView.BaseTable

This will be "ACCOUNT" for account, "OPPORTUNITY" for opportunities, and so on.

It will change based on the ACTIVE view, regardless of how many you have open.
