Looking for SLX expert

Mods, please accept my apologies if this post is inappropriate for this forum. I will immediately remove it if asked to do so (unless you'd like to zap it!) I read the code of conduct and feel that this is not a recruitment post - I am the administrator of our SalesLogix implementation and have done some light customization thanks to the generous help of people on this board. I have been tasked to complete a couple of custom projects that are well outside of my level of expertise with SalesLogix and simply wish to offer compensation to a seasoned developer for helping us out with this in their spare time.
We are looking to implement a couple of custom solutions to our tech support department. Here is a very brief synopsis of what we would like:
1. A module within SLX client (or external if appropriate) that scripts a series of questions for our first tier of support to ask customers that are calling in for a support ticket. This would be something like the script tools that outbound call centers use to "guide" their call center agents... A "choose your own adventure" if you will with a series of level 1 troubleshooting questions, and a mechanism for documenting the customer's answer (free-form text fields, drop-downs, or multi-choice radio buttons). Example:
Question 1: "Have you rebooted the server?" Answer: (radio buttons for yes or no)
If no, go to question 2. If yes, skip to question 5.
Question 2: "Have you poured a Slurpee down the back of the server?" etc. etc.
We would like to be able to customize the set of questions and possible answers with minimum development effort (ie. Questions/Answers stored in a database with a relationship/order matrix)
2. A small floating desktop widget that would allow tech support personnel to punch in/out of tickets quickly without navigating through the SLX client.
I am an IVR/speech reco developer and am confident that with enough time, research, and pestering questions on this forum, I could develop these new tools. But, I know that there's a guru out there that could whip this out in their spare time much more elegantly than I. Please contact me for more information.

Hi Brian,
If you are asking for help, then I think this is the best forum for you get the best Saleslogix developers to help you out with the requirements. You are perfect in reasoning that it would be faster to develop these tools if left to experts and the kind of knowledge/experienced developers this forum, you will certainly get the best for your requirements.
Both the requirements can be handled programmatically and I would suggest that you give your email address/contact details so that developers interested in taking up this project can follow you up offline.
Have a great day!

Hey Brian, actually I believe that the 1st item is a great candidate for a .net extension. Since you can create functionality to dynamically create controls (custom questionairs) it is better suited there then in SalesLogix.

We developed an Screen Based survey 5 years ago.....it could be developed further into an asking questions kind of thing (branching logic).....it has canned anwsers that you select from a canned script.....right now it stores the answers and questions to a Contact ID/grid form.....but easily could be added to a New Ticket Script with branching logic.....
The surveys (FAQ List?), questions, and answers are stored in Database Tables......Answers currently are reusable, but for your purposes a Yes to Question 27 would have different branching logic than a yes to question 30.... |

When our Marketing folks decide to create the "Survey du Jour", we turn to www.surveymonkey.com which allows anyone the ability to create Surveys and saves the data on their servers. I've done some coding to link the specific Contact to the url containing one or more Survey responses. Saves a lot of time, especially when someone visits your desk every few days and says, "can we add, 'What color was the blinking light?' to our survey?". |

Phil,
Would love to if it is honestly earned! A few extra bucks is always helpful for a developer whose daily bread (and butter) comes from programming. If you ever need to give out a few extra cash to a SLX expert, you can always count on me to make your life easy.
But it may not be me for this project, all you know. If some of our colleagues on the forum is also interested (you know the awesome talent this forum possesses), there may be a better, cheaper and elegant solutions proposed to Brian if his contact details are known which he has not provided yet. I can already see all virtual $$$ slipping out of my palms!
