CUSTOMSETTINGS use
Posted: 16 Jan 08 5:20 AM
I've recently been experimenting with using the CUSTOMSETTINGS table to store system-wide settings. I know how to add new entries using the Tools|Options|Custom tab and I have written a simple script to read the values from the CUSTOMSETTINGS table so I can use them.
My question is, are there any methods exposed by SalesLogix to retrieve the settings from CUSTOMSETTINGS? I've searched through all the scripts and forms, help files, these forums, the SalesLogix BP site and pretty much every place I can think of, and can't find anything.

I don't believe there is anything exposed to access these, you just read them from the table as needed.

I may be misunderstanding what area you are talking about but you can set and retrieve some custom settings using Application.UserOptions

The CUSTOMSETTINGS table is not the same a UserOptions.... Has nothing to do with them.
It's been around since the 5.2 days. You write your own "select" statements (or ado recordsets) to read it's contents. Some of us have used it to store integration data (connection info, etc).

Ah, I thought they were talking about the XML based useroptions. Thanks for clarification.
