I'm working on a script (SLX 6.2.6) that generates a letter from a template using Application.BasicFunctions.MergeFromPlugin. I've been asked to remove the promp asking if labels should printed, and the Complete to History dialog.

According to the documentation, Merge from plug "Behaves the same way that a "Write>E-mail, Letter, Fax...Using Template"
action behaves, except that the Most Recently Used (MRU) menu is not changed."

When launching a mailmerge from Write/MailMerge, labels and history are options that can be deselected prior to the merge, so the prompts don't appear. Is there any way to change the defualts so that MergeFromPlugin does not generate these prompts?

I'm fairly sure you can't do that (remove the prompt). The only other way would be to use the SDK and, instead of using the function, actually run the merge via this instead - you'll then have complete control over process (and it's not as onerous as it looks!).

I need to accomplish the exact same thing that Dan requested. I'm using the Application.BasicFunctions.MergeFromPlugin frunction in a Form button and I want it to run without prompting to create a label, a history and without creating an attachment.  I'm not familiar with any SDK approach. Can you shed some light on it for me?

Hi, you need to get the MailMerge SDK (email me if you can't find it) from SLX Support. Then you can do whatever you want!

Hello Mike, I emailed you the request yesterday. You might be busy or did my email get filtered as spam?

Thanks.

Yes, I'm afraid it did. Put the subject as Inv:2121 and it should go through!
I only have iPad at the moment and can't see my spam folder.
