I'm getting an error when debugging some code, here's the jist of the error:
"Join type not supported (not INNER join is used)"

I'll admit I am using a left outer join in my query but is that really not allowed in the SQL property for a datagrid? How do you work around it?

Before we go too much further, make sure UseVSSC is unchecked on the grid - having vssc enabled on grids will throw this error on occasion.

Thanks Matt, you nailed it. VSSC was on AND I was using :Bindid.

Thank you for using your procrastination time to help me!

Hi Matt,

The Join type error is occuring while creating contact group. VSSC check is applied only for the data grids. How can we fix this issue in the group/query builder?

Thanks in advance.

1. NEVER use :Bindid in your SQL for a datagrid. EVER.

2. Never use the Bindid property of a datagrid. EVER. Use another databound control tied to the ID of the base table to raise your AXFormChange event handler.

3. Always script this stuff, handle your own SQL code for the grid.

4. Never do a

gridname.sql.text = "adfadfadsdfa.....
gridname.refresh

Yes that's TWO refreshes of the grid. (plus (1) and (2) for a total of FOUR queries of the Server)

5. Never do a

myRS.Open "adfadfasdfadf
set gridname.recordset = myRS
gridgname.refresh (plus (1) and (2) for a total of FOUR queries of the Server)

Yes that's TWO refreshes of the grid.

Fun time with grids.....
