Opportunity Product Grid: Make columns read only case by case
Posted: 02 May 08 3:13 PM
Ok so we have some custom columns in the Opp Product grid. I can see where I could make an entire column read only, however I just want to make a cell read only, depending on a specific product. Basically we have a few products that need to collect additional sales data but none of the other products do, so I'd like to lock them down.
Thoughts on how to do this, without dramatically rewriting the 'out of the box' logic?

Unfortunately the GUI OOTB goes against this.....when the user types in a grid cell and then leaves the cell, SLX fires off a SQL statement for (or against in this case) you IMMEDIATELY.
Try this..... events
OnSelectNode
OnRowSelect
onSingleClick
DIM PID, ITS_LOCKED
PID = Grid.GetCurrentFIELD("PRODUCTID")
IF Grid.GetCurrentField("I KNOW I WANT THIS LOCKED") = "Locked Down" THEN
''' obviously this can go after the Product Table with a SQL statement if need be.....
grid.ROWSELECT = TRUE
ELSE
grid.ROWSELECT = FALSE
END IF
END SUB
Basically you are trying to lock down inline grid editing on these special case Products.....
IF they want to edit them, then allow a Double Click to pop the edit view......
