I have a requirement to allow for quotes to be printed using foreign languages (including asian languages). The quotes are created in English just need the translation on the quote report. We are proposing that for each product we will store the values for the name and description in each language and then generate the quote using the appropriate fields based on their language selection.

My question is, will there be issues storing the text in the DB and displaying it in Crystal?

Yes, most likely there will be, especially with Asian languages - check out my article here on multibyte languages - I think the issue will be how the raw data is stored (you can see an example in the article) and the thought that crystal can't translate this. I'm no Crystal guru, but I'm pretty sure it will be difficult at best to do so.
