Error sending email with QueMessage or QueMessageforRecord

fiogf49gjkf0d I customized the content of the ticket email in order to include additional info we capture.
When the body of the email is big in size (like more than 1000 characters), I get the following error:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them."
Although this is a windows error, I only get it if the email content is big (more than 1000 characters alltogether).
Is there limitation to the size of the email content using this function?. I called SLX support but they did not think it was due to the size of the email. So I did not get any help. There is not a good documentation about these functions either.
We are using 6.2 SP2. SQL Server 2000
Thanks for your help.

fiogf49gjkf0d QueMessage seems to be just a wrapper around the mailto: protocol, which more than likely is where the problem is. Personally if I need to do any decent amount of mail processing or automation I use the Outlook COM object. The only issue with this is the security prompts but that's because SalesLogix isn't giving us access to their Extended MAPI wrapper. Outlook Redemption gets around those security prompts quite nicely though. |

fiogf49gjkf0d Yes, there *is* a size limitation.
From the docs:
The number of characters that can be used successfully in QueMessage is limited. This includes all of the parameters. The sum of your e-mail address, CC, BCC, Subject and Body add up to the limitation, which is depends on the operating system.
If you're sending large emails you're better off looking at alternative routes. |
