Integer Format lost in Dynamic GridYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

Hi,

I've got a Data Grid (in v7.2.2) which has its .SQL.Text property changed at runtime (the columns are not changed from their design-time state). A 'Standard' type column, which was specified with ftInteger formatting in the Columns collection, appears to lose this formatting after code in the CustomDrawCell event performs a currency conversion on the value. The conversions themselves are working fine, but the commas have disappeared!!

In other words:

- I have a grid which has columns & formats specified at design time.
- At run time, the .SQL.Text is changed, and the grid is refreshed.
- Values in a gvien column are multiplied for the purpose of currency conversion.
- In the client, the formatting has now been lost; e.g. 10,000,000 shows as 10000000.

Is there a way to get the 'thousand seperators' back? I tried putting this in the CustomDrawCell event:

Column.FormatType = ftInteger

But that didn't have any effect!

Thanks,

Alec D

I suppose a work-around for this would be to perform whatever currency conversion or other calculations in the SQL statement of the grid, and remove the code which alters the cell's display at runtime.

Different means to the same end, but a shame that CustomDrawCell seems to have this effect on column formatting.
