hi slx users,

i am using saleslogix 6.2
i am worried about SQl conflict that takes place..When Multiple users simultaneously execute the below Script..
Do i have to set the Locktypes in Recordset Execution..? or Saleslogix takes care of it....
Please advice me in this issue...i appreciate your help.

set objSLXDB = Application.GetNewConnection
set recorset = CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
recorset.Open "update account_misc set slx_cluster='20',Account_clusterid=null where Accountid ='AOD9EA000WAS'", objSLXDB
recorset.close

ADO is ADO. You're simply using ADO to access the SLX database. If you want to ensure a particular lock type, you need to specify it. The SLX provider does not do any sort of locking for you.

thanks for the suggestion....

Can you help me ,which lock types do i have to use for my script and how to set that for my script.....so that i can avoid conflicts,that will occur when multiple users execute my script simultaneously...

Get a copy of ADO Programmer's Reference by David Sussman (it's advertised on this site).. and look at this article (on this site):

As RJL mentioned, the ADO Reference Book on the home page of this site is a great resource. A Google search would return many good results on the subject of ADO Lock Types as well http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ADO+LockTypes&btnG=Google+Search
