Hey Guys

Was wondering whether anyone knows what script/form is first called when one clicks the "Record to History" and "Send to SLX" buttons in outlook?

Trying to troubleshoot some issues with it and I need somewhere to start!

Thanks

Greg

Hi Greg

There is no form/script - this is all contained within slxab32.dll and slmn.dll - and, consequently, not changeable.

Regards
Mike

Thanks Mike

At what point however does saleslogix pick it up, I mean the email data does hit SLX, and a form is loaded and populated with said data. Was just wondering where this starts within the customisable side of SLX as I want to follow it through its journey step by step.

Thanks

Greg

Yup, same issue - there is *nothing* in SLX that can be customised - all the "forms" etc. are within these dll's and so you cannot modify them.

When I hit "Record to History" in outlook, saleslogix pops up our regular (and customised...) "Add Note/History" form containing the email information data. It's this part that I'm trying to troubleshoot.

I know.

So is that form launched and populated by the integration DLL, or is there any other processing of the information prior to it (like, for example, when you drag drop a file into SLX).

Thanks
Greg

Yes, it's the same one for both.

Note that for a more complete list of what actually happens, you can use the SalesLogix Profiler.

Hi Greg,

I was just going to point out that Outlook2CRM allows the process of attaching e-mail in Outlook to SLX to be fully customizable. You can see more at http://www.outlook2crm.com/

I've used and loved Outlook2CRM (albeit w/o developers licence, and only for the duration of the trial), saved me endless amounts of time. Unfortunately management being management wouldnt let me spend the money (despite pointing out that in terms of time saved * average wage that it would pay for itself in a few months).

Sigh

Thanks, Greg.
