Adding products to Sales order
Posted: 11 Aug 08 3:23 PM
Howdy, my customer wants the ability to add products directly to a sales order. I have not been successful in calling the add cmdAddOpportunityProductsView. After I get past the "item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or Ordinal errors" The sales client locks with a "access violation error on MSVCRT.dll.
Has anybody been successful in doing this?
any advice is appreciated
mark

You need to get past the part where a SalesOrder product comes from Opportunity Products.
The Sales Order Details has an "FK" to both Opportunity ptoduct and Product.
It's a complete re-engineering effort.

Welcome....
It's do-able... but I'd probably quote at least a week (40) hours to do it.

It may be worthwhile to Look at PowerQuotes from CustomerFX, it can create Quote or Sales Orders and has a cool Products interface, Quotes and Sales Orders can be linked to Opportunities or not.
Best, Brian

I tend to favor Client1's package:

We use Power2Quotes from Customer FX and it rocks! Very deep, very flexible, very easy to use. We've become way more productive. However, we may be unusual in that our world revolves around quoting - our average sales person averages probably sends 20-30 quotes per day.
