Mail Merge printing Footer only on the last page

Howdy~ I am doing a mail merge into standard SLX template. I want a portion of the text in the Word Footer only to print on the last page. I am using the {IF{PAGE}={NUMPAGES} "hello"}creating a field that will be suppressed unless it is the last page. This works in Generic Word and if I am editing the template. 1. write 2. templates 3. Choose my template 4. Edit I see my “hello” and it is only on the last page
When I as "ADMIN” attempt to print or view the template. My "hello" text does not show or print on the last page. Other text elements in the footer print fine.
1. write 2. letter using Template 3. choose Template
Any help would be appreciated.

Just got off the phone with SAGE they feel this might be a defect. Still unsure if they will fix since it is slightly custom.
Are there any other methods to print some text on the bottom of the last page of a MailMerge word doc when the number of pages could be variable?
