Is there any way to bypass the data link manager or the 10 connection limit? We're currently using SLX version 6.2.6.1007 and will soon have 12 databases to administer.

Thanks.

There is an undocumented/unsupported method to do this.

I'll contact you directly..

More than 10 connections can be specified in the "Data Link Manager" of SalesLogix applications. To do this, add a DWORD value named MAXCONN under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SalesLogix and set it to the number of connections you would like to specify (you can't set it to less than 10).

Thanks Ryan. However, this isn't working. My registry entry is as follows:

Quote:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SalesLogix]
"CUDCopied"=dword:00000001
"MAXCONN"=dword:0000000c

I restarted my PC after making this change to the registry.

When I try to add a new Data Link, I still receive the following message:

Quote:
You already have the maximum of 10 connections defined. You must remove an existing connection before you can add more.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

Mark

Nope.. you followed what Ryan told you.. but it's the WRONG location in the registry

Here's where it's ALWAYS been:
HKCU/Software/SalesLogix/ADOLogin

Just don't push this number too high.. trust me.. I've done it and saw a severe impact when opening a connection. I'd suggest never going above 40 HEX (64). Besides that.. it starts to get confusing.

Hi Mark, I went off top of head and missed the ADOLogin node and RJ Ledger mentioned. Add it there and it should work (no need to restart the machine)
