We have a client that would like to use the web service from the USPS to verifiy addresses. Has anybody done any interfaces like that? Not looking for the code just that it can be done. What other methods of address verification are out there for SLX. this will be done in 7.5.

thanks much in advance

Yes.. this should be a "no-brainer".. the USPS has an "SDK".. you need to go to their site and sign up.

RJ is correct - In addition, within the PowerEntry enhancement product for SalesLogix, we have implemented plug-and-play integration with Satori Software's MailRoom ToolKit, QAS QuickAddress and a Web service City/State/ZIP+4 lookup from Avalara. Each of these vendors are licensees of the USPS (and other mail services around the globe) for address verification/certification/standardization. This allows a user to enter into PowerEntry a 1st line street address and 5 digit ZIP and we then use these products/services to standardize and verify the address, populate City, State, ZIP+4. You can find details on PowerEntry on www.qgatesoftware.com or contact me.

Dale,
With which SLX version do you use the MRTK? I'm presently upgrading to 7.5, and I'm going through to update all of my custom forms as necessary. With SLX 6.2.6 we couldn't use Satori's SLX bundle directly and had to integrate it into our own 'AddAddressDialog' because we control Address 3 visibility in addition to some other minor changes like tab order. After my upgrade to 7.5 I'm getting an error on Lookup and Certify stating "ActiveX component can't created object: 'mrtktask.ziptask'".

Any clues any of you smart people can provide would be greatly appreciated. Satori says that they have not tested with newer SLX versions and to let them know if I run into problems. I've tested with the original Satori plugin and my own, but I don't want to complain to the Vendor if this is just a mistake on my part, though.

Solved my own MRTK problem - I apparently did not have the toolkit properly installed on the test machine.

BTW - If you want to use SLX standard forms - you can see that in action here: http://www.empath-e.com/satorisoftware.asp
