Hi,

Is it possible to open picklist on button click? I need to create ability for users to modify picklist without going to Manage > Picklists area from menu. So, I need it open on button click.

regards
VB

From the KB of rjl:
QUESTION:
How do I setup picklists so that changes added by anyone are available to everyone?

ANSWER:
When a picklist is setup so that any user can add to it, there is an un-desirable side effect - the addition(s) are NOT visible to anyone but the user that added it.

The ONLY way to have picklist changes made available to everyone is to add the changes as the user: ADMIN

NOTE: You can run a SQL update statement against the main SlaesLogix db (via execute SQL in the Admin) to change the userid to ADMIN - However, there may be cases where individual changes are allowed and this would break things.

No, This button is visible only to ADMIN. We just want to make it easy so admin is not need to going through big list of picklists to find right picklist to modify.

I am looking vbscript code to invoke picklist for admin to modify on button click

Which doesn't do what the thread originator wants......I know of no method to invoke/pop a specific picklist in the picklist manager to save the admin the headache of 'scrolling' and tabbing through the entire sets of picklists..... it's better in 7.2+ as you have three tabs of picklists...but older picklists from converted databases still have their 'SalesLogix Tab' picklists show up in the Custom picklists tab.....

Actually it would be nice to have a Search/Lookup by picklist and invoke the manage function for that specific picklist on the fly....you could search by Family/Type, etc. and then picklist name..... Custom, Account Type.....begins with, contains, wild card searches, etc.....

Personally, there are much BIGGER fish to fry than this.....bundling lookups, joins, calculated fields, create fields for example......or copying project items and pasting multiple Create items for future changing/editing would be a much bigger win for developers.....
