OUCH! A Routine just blew up....comparing Opportunity.SalesPotential to cDBL(EditBox.Text value).....
turns out that those SQL 17,4 fields are VarType 14.....not 5.

And I don't know of a cDEC or cNUMER conversion.....

Solution:

TempAmount = cDBL(QRS.Fields(0).VALUE) '''''''VarType 14 from RecordSet
TempAmount2 = cDBL("0" & numReNewBus.TEXT) '''' VarType 5 from Text Edit Box databound to VarType 14 17,4 database field.
''' msgBOX TempAmount & " " & VarType(TempAmount) & " " & TempAmount2 & " " & VarType(TempAmount2)
IF TempAmount <> tempAmount2 THEN

Now back to my normal program of regularly scheduled disciplinary actions.

So, essentially, convert everything using cDbl and you'll be fine? Sounds good to me - I just went through this exercise as well, since I am in the middle of upgrading a system from 6.2.6 to 7.5.

Thanks for helpful hint on the VarType function - I never knew that existed! I'm sure I'll be able to put that to use soon...
