Greetings,

In SLX 7.2 (I think) they started adding some "To" and "From" verbage on the "Groups" tabs. (i.e. F8 from account view).
This makes for very LONG tab names... Which my users hate.

I did figure out that if you put in a "Display Name" then it shows that instead of "Name Plus all that other stuff".
Thats great but we have thousands of groups and that display name field was never filled in.
Does anyone know what file that group information would be stored in?
I would like to run a quick SQL update statement to update the Display name.

Or is it in some blob field?

Found the answer to my question I think...

If I am not mistken, the following SQL statement will take care of this for me.
Could anyone conifrm that I got the Table and TYPE correct?

Update sysdba.Plugin set DisplayName = Name
WHERE (TYPE = 8) AND (DISPLAYNAME IS NULL)

Hi Scott

No, that won't work - what it's do with is the client adding the released to information to the group name. This is considered a defect and you can get a HF to fix that - HF23 I believe will do it for you.

Mike,
Thanks for the response. I'm a little unsure of which hot fix you are talking about.. for 7.5 I see HF 1 , 2, 3 , 5, and 9
I looked at HF 2 and HF 3. But it seems they may be for the Web client.

Ah, if you are running 7.5 - it's not been released yet (think it comes into SP1)

OH.. Ok.. Any reason why I shouldn't just put on SP 1 then?
I am upgrading from 6.2.6 to 7.5 this weekend anyway.

No, none that I can think of - would recommend it as will save you the hassle of an upgrade later !
