Custom View with union query
Posted: 01 Jun 09 5:31 PM
Does anyone know if it is possible to create a union query based view that will sync out to remotes. We have an Oracle/SQLServer setup on 7.2.1 and I need to make IntelliCTI work with the advanced QBE. Can I get a union query to sync out? If so what is the syntax? I have tried many variations to no avail.
Thanks,
Steve
e.g.
create view sysdba.ht_account_phone_v as(
select accountid, mainphone as phone from sysdba.account
union
select accountid, fax as phone from sysdba.account
union
select accountid, tollfree as phone from sysdba.account
union
select accountid, alternatephone as phone from sysdba.account
union
select accountid, cliphone as phone from sysdba.qgtns_account)

Thanks for the great ideas. You guys have given some good stuff.
As Peter Sellers said in his fraunch accent, "the problem is sol-ved".
I used Toad to get the view into the master database and sent a create view to the sql remotes enclosing it in the 'Exec('sql statement') command.
