Hopefully this is simple question but is there a way to stop the Send SLX process from automatically attaching files to the SLX when you attach a file in the email?

Yes, but it has to be done on each user's machine:

On each PC, run Regedit and locate the following Key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SalesLogix\Outlook

- Create a new String Value and call it "IgnoreFileNames" (This entry doesn't exist by default, if it is there we will modify its value)
- Set the Data for the newly created value to "*.*"

By doing this, the system will ignore all attachments. Again, the downside is that this is a per User configuration that is stored on the Registry.

As far as I know, this has been in place before version 7, so not sure why it wouldn't work.

I tested it on my system, every time I set the value, no popup regarding attachments, whenever I cleared it, each time I attached the message it would prompt me for the Attachments.

I used a single email for the Test, which had 2 attachments and 1 contact that is on my DB. Each test consisted of attaching the Email twice, and ran the test several times with Consistent results.

I am however running 7.5.1

Raul,

Is it possible to ignore multiple file names?  For instance, 001.jpg as well as 002.jpg?We just changed the company wide signatures, and every time the company logo is being added to SLX.

Let me know!

Doug

You should be able to add multiple entries, delimitted by semicolons  (e.g. "001.jpg;002.jpg").
