Is it possible to change the main lookup on the account detail mainview to 'contains' as opposed to 'starts with'? Thanks

Not yet, HF32 offers some hope though ! (abilty to add default lookup types (contains, eq, lt, gt) etc !

Think that came in v752. You would use the DefaultLookupOperator property.

Somewhat related question, how do you change the field the lookup defaults to? In Oppty we want it to default to description, and not account manager

Are we talking LAN or Web? If you're talking Web that is based on the layout (default search field is the first one in the layout). If you're talking LAN, I don't know
