Over time logging in with the Admin account has become very slow to load groups and recently if I had done a refresh would take literally 4 or 5 minutes to load up. As a result i've just uninstalled and reinstalled the client again (same client 7.2..!!) and it is now returning the groups on a refresh within 15-20 seconds.

Obviously i'm very happy with this but does anyone know why uninstalling re-installing the client has fixed the problem?

Would I need to do this on all PC's that are experiencing slowness or is there something that needs cleaning out that I can do manually and keep on top of?

Any advice would be appreciated.

By uninstalling/re-installing you probably just rid of the client registry setting. The easier way is to View | Groups | Show Groups Owned by Admin - this vastly cuts down the number and saves you the hassle of the reinstall !

We have found the issue which is 7.2 service pack 2...!!

We did the fresh install which rapidly improved the groups, then installed SP1 which was stilll okay and then installed sp2 which then revrted it back to being slow.

I think there are some SP2 hot fixes that might be required for this which i'll have to have a look at.
