Adding record to a sub table?Your last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

Hello everyone,

Here is my dilemna: I have an Opportunity Table, and in the Opportunity Screen we have tabs on the bottom. I created a sub-table in the Opportununity Table where I would like to save the records with the information that is going to be added from that said tab - however, I think my problem is that I need to create a record in that sub table that will link to the opportunity, otherwise nothing shows up.

Is there a way to create a record in the sub table when the opportunity is created? Otherwise I will have to add all those fields into the Opportunity Table and do it that way.

Hopefully this makes sense.

Hi Paula,

Is this a custom 1 to 1 table? Speaking from my personal preference, I tend to avoid creating 1 to 1 tables unless absolutely necessary, because of issues like the one you pointed out. Instead I will add my new fields to the standard SLX tables and as long as you prefix your new fields with something (company name/initials etc) this will prevent any clashes if future updates introduce fields with the same name base name.

Then you can simply add the fields to your tab and bind them as you would do on the main Opportunity screen without having to worry about whether or not a record exists for the given Opportunity.

Regards,

Lee
