SLAPI and COM VB/VB.Net Examples

fiogf49gjkf0d I've seen Ryan's example for using the SLAPI, and have seen the COM example from SLX website.
I'd like to know what's the best (combination of fastest, safest, most efficient) way to query the SLX DB for specific records, from an external application? Basically, I'd like to query the SLX DB based on specific data. I may search for all accounts with "ferdinand" in the last name, or I may search for all accounts with "707345" in the phone number. What's the best way to do this? I've heard horror stories about doing SLX development, and certainly don't want to break anything.
I appreciate any assistance.. and of course, examples would be awesome.
Thanks. Y2K |

fiogf49gjkf0d AGREE! Recently we've been workingg with some 3rd party (other "tech" partners - who shall reman nameless) on "qualifying" their apps w/v7.0. It's amazing (underwelming is probably a better description) to find out that some of them STILL rely on SLAPI! I've tried to educate them... but they just don't seem to want to change. No a good service to teh (user or BP) community. -- rjl |
