Does anybody know a way to set a default layout, when adding a new group into a custom MainView.

Obviously you can do a "copy group" on an existing group, but I'm just trying to keep things nice and simple for my users who will use the "add group" option if they want to create a new group

We are on SLX 6.2.1

Thanks
Martin..

Hi Martin. I know when adding a new group on the opp, contact or account level, the default layout is based on the Latest Opportunities or Latest Contacts or Latest Accounts tab. If you edit the layout of any of those tabs, it will use that layout as the default layout for all new groups. I hope this helps.

I just tried creating a "latest Leads" Group (Leads being the EntityNamePlural set on the MainView)
unfortunately it still doesn't set this as the default layout when I create a new group.
I already had an "All Leads" Group

Thanks
Martin..

I'm sorry. I wasn't clear enough. These "Latest" tabs are existing out of the box system tabs. You don't need to create them. They are editable tabs. When creating new tabs on a given level, the layout of the new tab will follow the layout of those "Latest" tabs. Make sense?

Hi Martin,

I don't know for sure but I'm not sure you can set a "default layout" for a new custom MainView. The ticket area does not have a default layout for new groups. The ACO MainViews do, but I suspect that those are hardcoded. But that is all just a guess, I'd love to hear otherwise if someone knows.

I apologize for being to lazy to confirm but I think the layout is based on the default lookup you have set for your mainview plugin.

That's what I thought as well. While that does control the default layout for lookups, you still don't get a default layout for new groups.
