I don't have access to Visual Studio and VB.NET Express doesn't seem to work as a debugger either. I tried the Microsoft one (version 1.0a) and it would open the app but no script. I downloaded a trial of PrimalScope but it's not being triggered by SalesLogix either.

I have my client set to debug "on Error" and I've also tried "Always". Neither work. This is a big frustrating. It's probably something stupid that I have missed but I'm not sure where to look at this point.

You could use the generic MS Script debugger. Look here: http://www.slxdeveloper.com/page.aspx?id=28

Ryan,

I was able to get that to work, but I didn't see a way to look inside your variables and such. Is that not a feature of the debugger?

You just need to use the Immediate Window for that (The big white textbox window). Type

?variablename

And it will print it out for you.

I've been able to use the debugger from MS Visual Studio. My problem was how to turn it on and off. I now know to change and/or reset the 'debugger' variable in the Administrator program after first positioning the client program to an appropriate point. But being able to set the 'Break Points' where I want them is another story. The debugger is a strange piece of software!

I used the debugger in VS before and loved it. I'm hoping that next quarter I'll get a copy of VS2005 rather than trying to use VB.NET Express which apparently does not have a debugger that can be accessed outside the app.

Ryan might know this being an uber-guru and all, but I wonder how Windows marks an application as a debugger or what SalesLogix is looking for? The debugger PrimalScope looked pretty nice and wasn't very expensive ($20 I think) but SalesLogix didn't see it. Maybe it was something on my side. If anyone else has used that debugger successfully let me know what you did. Please.
