Dear all,

Is there anyway to customize Add Activity forms (Meetings, To Do, etc) ?
I want to disable some of the options and tabs, and also want to set some default value.
I can't seem to find the correct plugin in plugin manager. TIA
Regards,

Dhany

Dhany,

There are some events you can hook into to:

1. Create the activity record with your default values
2. Launch the edit activity form for that record

As you can imagine there are short comings such as deleting the record if the users cancels, etc. In general, you are going to find the activity system is not customizable and the work arounds are too costly to justify. In version 7 they have opened up the sub system and you have the control you are looking for.

Tmmus,

Thx for the reply. Unfortunately the workaround seems too costly for me right now.
I just have to convinced my boss that it probably better to wait for version 7.
Do you have any info regarding version 7 status ?
Regards,

Dhany

The product is in early beta at this time. I don't believe there is an official commitment for a release date but we are hoping that version 7 will be released before the end of the year. Fortunately Sage is willing to accept feedback on the quality of the release. Unfortunately, this takes time and there is no magic equation to tell us how much.

IMHO there is a fine line between delivering a "technically perfect" product and delivering a product when the market wants it. Given the need for this version to "have legs", I hope Sage will error on the side of quality rather than timeline.

This might answer your second question. In Architect or the Administrator, you can set default values for picklists. So it would just be a matter of figuring out which picklist you want to change on the Add Activity form and then change it in Architect/Administrator.
