Customizing outlook integration

Our company is migrating from Lotus Notes to Outlook, we have a connector that links the two mail systems. This results in all emails in outlook being appending with @IDBS
When using the "record selected messages to SalesLogix History" Button the contact is not found because of this, hence the message can not be recorded. This means dragging and dropping is currently the only way to record incoming emails into SalesLogix
Does anyone know if this code is customizable, and if so where it is
We are currently Outlook 2003 and SalesLogix 6.2.1, soon to be upgraded to 7.0.1
Thanks in advance
Martin McRiley..

Outlook Integration is basically the Intellisync SDK coded to work with SalesLogix information. It's not customizable because it's something that has to be compiled. ExchangeLink is a Exchange integrator that from what I hear does a much better job. I don't know how much of that is customizable but if it just works better then there may not be a need to.
It sounds like something in your connector is modifying the Outlook format Intellisync is looking for (it's VERY picky) and you're getting around the AI portions that match up contacts by just dragging the email to the history record. You could try to either keep it in the format Intellisync recognizes or see if the connector can somehow modify the information a different way. If this is not something you can do easily then I would suggest another route. It could take forever just trying to determine exactly what Intellisync wants, much less find a way to keep the information "legal".
The fact that you can drag items into SalesLogix is a good thing in that it means you can work around the problem. If all else failed at least you could make it work. The real issue is how tedious the workaround is though.

As Jeremy alreaady mmentioned, you cannot customize the OOTB outlook integration. I will have a product out soon called Outlook2CRM (not yet released) that will allow for customizable Outlook integration. You can check
http://www.outlook2crm.com
for updates & info related to it's upcoming release.

Thanks Jeremy, I was afraid that may be the case, I think we'll just have to live with the workaround and then I'll take a look at outlook2CRM when its released

Depending on the "level" of your SaslesLogix system, you may be abel to obtaing ExchangeLink for free. You need to contact your BP about this. There is NOT a (public) download link for ExchangeLink.
