Is there a way to get the Add Contact for Account Screen to land on the Account rather than the Contact record after a new record is added?

Sure.

Look in the script behind the OK button on the form "System:Add New Contact Account". You'll see there a Select Case and a call to a function called InvokeMainView to either invoke the contact MainView or the account MainView.
