Hi

I am working in SalesLogix 7.0 and i had a scenario where i have to capture new fields for both accounts and contacts. My requirement is user will manually punch data for accounts and contacts but with this fields (which are there in add contact account form) new fields need to include so that they can punch while inserting new account (record). For this scenario i need to write code and i need to again write Stored procedures for inserting this fields in the data base. I have already created new tables for the new fields. What i have to do now?Is there any option in SLX7.0 so that i can create new fields.
As fields of more than 15 my client is asking me to create new window for inserting new fields

Please help me out any body?

Thanks in advance

What you are talking about is basic SalesLogix stuff.
First of all.. you do not use stored procedures to add fields/data to SalesLogix.

I suggest you need to get a copy of DevLogix and read it. Then come back and ask questions.

You need to get a basic understanding of how one develops in the SalesLogix world.. it's a steep learning curve. Unless you take a SalesLogix Developer class or work with an experienced person you will continue to struggle with the (SalesLogix) basics.

You don't use stored procs with SLX. You open the screen you want in Architect add the controls, then either bind them to the fields in the database or write code to insert them into the right tables.

Did you create the new table using the SLX DB Manager, or in SQL Enterprise Manager?

BTW, the DevLogix book would likely be a great help to you

Take a look at the home page of this site. There is a link to it there on the right side. You won't be sorry you bought it. It's a great resource for people that are new to SLX.
