Sorting Lookups

fiogf49gjkf0d Hi: I want to change the sort of the leadsource Lookup. Right now after you search for a string, the records are sorted by Description. I would like to sort by the Type field. When I go into Architect, Manage, Lookups and select the leadsource lookup, I thought I would be able to go into Layout and just change the sort on the sort tab, but there isn't a sort tab. The only tab available is the Layout tab. Anyone have any ideas? I'm still new to SLX, so I'm hoping there is something I am missing. Thanks |

fiogf49gjkf0d Hmmm, that is a very good question. There isn't any apparent way to predefine a sort in a Layout. Has anyone else run into this?
I do know that once you are viewing a layout in the Client that you can sort by column just by clicking on the column heading. I also know the convenience of just having it sorted the preferred way.

fiogf49gjkf0d Yeah, it's nice that you can sort the fields in the lookups now - it wasn't that way in the v6 versions, was it? Anyway, I thought I'd try and run the profiler while having the lookup popup, and see what it decides to sort by. Mine sorted by Description, then the LeadsourceID. Looking in the lookup, it shows the description as the search field / name field, and the ID as the LeadsourceID. I'm guessing that it may be using these fields to define the sorts, which sounds somewhat logical - but then you can't sort by the type field even if you are searching the description field. |
