Hi guys

Is it possible to launch a Sales Process from a button on a Form?

The only documentation I can find relates to Contact Processes.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Also the code I have so far is (If the process is named XYZ):

Application.BasicFunctions.DoInvoke "Process", "Personal:XYZ"

No errors are coming up but nothing is happening at all.

The reason for this is I would like to run 1 Sales Process from another if that is possible.

Thanks again.

Dirty little "secret".. Contact Process is realy a true "workflow/Process".. Sales Process is NOT! It's integrated w/Opportunity and there is no "workflow" engine running it.

In other words.. it's just a "checklist" that one runs thru IN an opportunity.

If you want real "workflow" for doing Sales Process I suggest you take a look at something like TaskCentre.

Thanks for the reply Bob

Really a "checklist" is all we need and it needs to run in an opportunity as that is how the company works. We work almost entirely within opportunities (I know this isn't exactly how Saleslogix is intended to be used).

So if there is any way to launch a Sales processes with code I'd love to know how.

Cheers

I have a major client that is "opportunity" oriented.. It's not that unusual. In fact it's very typical.

As I posted.. a Sales Process is just a "checklist". I'd suggest you read the info that's part of the helpfile in the SalesLogix Client on Sales Process (search for process.. scroll to Sales Process) and it will explain just what they are.

They are "built" using the architect.. and exist on a "tab" in the Opportunity subsystem. There's nothing to "launch" since they are not a process from an technical point of view (unlike contact process whis IS a real "process".

Ahhhh thanks for clearing that up Bob I get you now.

I've learnt a ton about Saleslogix over the last few days thanks to this place.

In the end I decided to build a form that runs just like a Sales Process checklist which I have total control over thanks to learning about the DoInvoke commands found on this site.

Thank you very much.

And while on the topic of Sales Processes, it should be noted that only one Sales Process can be used for a given Opportunity. Switching to a second Sales Process after one is underway will cause the loss of data associated with the first one.
