Hi all,

Anyone know if there's a function available in SLX 7 that will execute after a Mail Merge has been run, similar to the AfterActivity functions?

I have a requirement that after each mail merge is run, the user wants to do some updates to a status field if the document is linked to a status in a Xref table.

Regards,
Antony

I haven't done this but perhaps, instead of trying to capture some event after the Mail Merge, you can invoke the Mail Merge from a custom script. That would allow you to add any pre- or post-processing needed. Some methods I found that may help are Application.BasicFunctions.CreateDocument, Application.BasicFunctions.MergeFromPlugin, and MergeFromFile. The last item is listed in the Developer's Guide but not documented. However, there is a Technical Document dated 2002 that provides an example of its use. Good luck.

That's the way I would do it to. Custom mail merge is scary at first but is very doable
