We have a potential client that is considering implementing SLX. One of the things they would like to do is use SLX to design questionnaires and to record the responses to those questionnaires/surveys.

So, for a particular group of contacts (say), I imagine that they would 'assign' a questionnaire that's previously been designed/configured by one of the users. Then the users can call the contacts, run through the Qs and record the answers.

Sounds good, but not without monumental development, as far as I can see!

Has anyone done anything like this, or does anyone know of a 3P product which works with SLX to allow this sort of thing?

Cheers.

We use Sage Communicator for that. You can design a survey and associate that survey with a campaign. There is a feature in the product where you can design a campaign which will initiate without sending an email. We have designed our survey template to link into intelli CTI from QGate, so that our call centre can access the surveys, call the customers, record the answers and have the results fed back into sales logix. It's a bit complex to administer and set up, but not as much as designing your own solution from scratch would be.

Hi Phil,

I developed this for my previous company. The functionality was basically a main window that provided the ability to create and manage surveys.

Each survey could then have any number of questions assigned to it. Each question could be one of a number of types - yes/no, multichoice, free text etc, and for yes/no questions you could also assign a next question number to yes and no so that the question flow could be dictated by the answers.

A new tab was then defined for the contacts view that allowed a survey to be selected and the questions run - the answers being stored in a contact/survey/question table.

Completed surveys could then be viewed surveys by contact, or contacts by survey in the main surveys view.

It seemed to work pretty well in the UATs but unfortunately I left the company before moving on to the analysis and reporting side.

Feel free to contact me directly if you want more information.

This might be something we could use.

Is Sage Communicator a part of Empulse or is it an independent add-on for SalesLogix?

Thanks,
John G.

Good stuff Colin. I've done both Surveys (tied to a contact) and Questionaires (tied to something else, maybe a Seminar or a Product.
The questionaire is just a data form off a Response Grid.....radio buttons, check boxes, picklists, etc.
The survey was a full system.....Survey Manager, list of questions from a Question Manager, list of Answers (and answer type) form an Answer manager.

Basically you create a survey, add questions to it from the question list, and order the questions as you'd like them to appear.

If you need a bundle on either send me an email.

Many thanks to you all for the responses - it seems that there is some excellent stuff out there already. I'd hoped that this was the case.

That puts us in a great position with this prospect - I may contact one or more of you separately for more information in the next few days.

Thanks again
Phil

Sage Communicator is a e-Marketing system, which Sage offer for both their Sage MME and SalesLogix packages. The thing is the primary functions is sending email campaigns for Saleslogix, but we managed to shoehorn it into working as a survey and questionnaire telemarketing tool as well. I think they've recently renamed it as Sage E-Marketing.

Can someone point me to more information on Sage Communicator or E-Marketing if that is the new name for it. I am not finding it in the Products page of the Sage Software site.

Thanks
