We are looking to upgrading to SQL Server SP4. Currently we are running Sales Logix 6.2.1. We have several customizations that we will need to address to move up to Sales Logix 6.2.3. Any suggestions and/or course of actions?

The other one is our DBA would like to move the production database from one server to another. What issues will we need to be aware of when moving the database? Is there a way we can script a batch file of some sort and push that down to the client installs to update them so they point to the new database location? Is anyone aware of any issues with this? Has anyone done this in the past?

Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks, and have a great day!
Keith

If the location of your SalesLogix server doesn't change then no change on the desktops is needed. All you need to do is change the entry in the SLX server to point to the new database location and all is well. If you are also moving the SLX server then you'll need to get that change out to the desktops. You can batch that out, it is stored in the registry. There is another post in these forums which discusses that here http://www.slxdeveloper.com/forum.aspx?forumid=3000&postid=578

We are not moving the SLX Server. Nothing needs to be done for the remote users either? Thanks for the link, I will take a look at it this afernoon.

Remotes don't care (or even know) where the database for the host is located. All client applications read this from the SLX server. So as long as the SLX server points to the right place then all else is well. You don't have to do anything else, other than just change the entry in the SLX server. Isn't that nice?
