I have an add/edit form which consists of an 'Outcome' field with three options. In this form if the end user selects the 'Cancelled' option they are then forced to enter details in the next field which consists of a picklist, where they can not proceed to save the record until data is entered. However if they do not select Cancelled then they can carry on entering the rest of the details and save the form.

In the picklist field in properties I have tried checking the 'required' checkbox but this did not give me the required result. I also checked the 'RecordChanged' tick box but again no joy. This is the script I have used in my form where am I going wrong?

Sub cboThreatToCancelChange(Sender)
IF deOutcome.Text = "Cancelled" THEN
cboThreatToCancel.Required = False
ELSE
cboThreatToCancel.Enabled = True
END IF
End Sub
